RF United Welcomes Nick LaBrocca

Roaring Fork United is excited to announce that Nick LaBrocca is joining the Club as the Technical Director. As the Roaring Fork United Technical Director, Nick will be responsible for the design and implementation of curriculum and technical skill methodology for coaches of all age groups, supporting the Club’s mission and values by continuing to develop the Club’s Player and Coach Development Pathways. He will also be heavily involved in the continued development of our High School to Collegiate program, designed to expose players to college and youth national team opportunities through regional or national showcase events. You will see him on the field during the season supporting and educating coaches, and in the off-season facilitating clinics and camps. As the Technical Director, Nick will report directly to the Kevin Jardine, the Roaring Fork United Executive Director.

Nick comes to Roaring Fork United from New Jersey where he worked with FC Delco, FC Monmouth and Cedar Stars Academy, coaching Development Academy (DA) and MLS-Next teams that are designed to provide the best player development experience in North America and feed into professional Clubs.

Prior to coaching, Nick played NCAA Division I at Rutgers University where he started in 78 games (all but one game in his collegiate career) from 2003-2006, where he earned All-BIG EAST recognition three years.

In 2007, Nick was selected by the Colorado Rapids with the 35th overall pick in the MLS SuperDraft.  Over his nine-year professional career in Major League Soccer, Nick played in 232 games for the Rapids, Toronto FC, Chivas USA, and Chicago Fire.  As a midfielder, Nick was selected and played in the 2011 MLS All-Star game versus Manchester United with players such as David Beckham and Thierry Henry.  He also scored the 10,000th goal in MLS history.

Nick has a USSF A-Youth license, a young family, and is excited to move back to Colorado to help build our Club, educate our coaches, and impact our youth.  Nick will be working remotely this spring while he and his family search for a place in the Valley to live.  He plans to make several trips out to work face-to-face with the coaches and players before and during the spring season.

Nick LaBrocca, Roaring Fork United Technical Director said, “I am extremely excited to be joining Roaring Fork United. Colorado has always been a special place to me personally and professionally, so having the chance to bring my unique experiences to the western slope is thrilling. My aim is to be a resource that positively impacts our Club quality on and off the field in a way that exemplifies the core values of our community. I look forward to speaking to you all on February 6th.”

Kevin Jardine, Roaring Fork United Executive Director said, “We are very excited to have Nick working with the Club.  We had over 50 applicants for the position of Technical Director and Nick’s enthusiasm and excitement to move back to Colorado and work with us to take our Club to the highest level made him the ideal candidate. His experience and knowledge as a coach, professional player, and college athlete will be invaluable for our community.”
