Winter Futsal -
During the winter months, Roaring Fork United continues to promote player development through small-sided games. Winter futsal provides a fun and player-centered environment in which players get the chance to play games with little to no instructions from the coach/referee.
Components of the program that allow for maximum enjoyment and development through indoor training:
1. Technical Development - Since each time slot for training is small, each player will have the opportunity to be more engaged in the play, rather than getting lost in the crowd. Rather than just relying on a player's speed, players are now placed in environments that promote a player's technical ability in a realistic game environment.
2. Tactical Development - With fewer players, players are now having to think quicker, make quicker decisions and develop their soccer I.Q. Tactics in two words "decision making", making players more soccer savvy.
3. Fewer Players = More Touches and Opportunity - futsal leagues and indoor training are a great way to get players in and around the game. The game is truly the best teacher, however, now that we have created an environment that places players right in the right setting.
4. Individual Component - This is one of the most important variables in futsal. Players can no longer hide. This creates more 1v1, 2v1, 3v1 and 2v1 scenarios for each player.
