The U stands for under, but this can be a bit confusing. Starting in the fall of 2016, US Soccer and FIFA mandated and use the calendar year to determine age groups, instead of the previously used school year calendar. The calendar year age groups run from January 1st through December 31st. When registering your children, please be absolutely sure that you enter the date of birth correctly and that they are registered in the correct age group. All players are asked to play in their own age group as each program provides its own unique set of skills for player development.

Age group turnover occurs on July 31, 2022.  Registration for programs that begin after August 1, 2022, will be done based on these guidelines. 

Roaring Fork United offers combined age groups for registration. This means that the 10U (2013 birth year) and 9U players (2014 birth year) register together in the 10u age group. When teams are created within the age group, birth year, skill level, and any preferences indicated during registration are considered.

If you are unsure of the appropriate age group for your player, please find their birth year in the chart below and register them to the appropriate age group indicated under "Registration Eligibility." 

**Mountain Region League registrants will register in the 10U, 12U, or 15U age groups.
